Sheboygan Police Benevolent Association Scholarship Information

The Sheboygan Police Benevolent Association represents the members of the Sheboygan Police Department present and retired.  It is through this association and its scholarship program that the officers seek to promote the scholastic well being of the youth of our community. The Sheboygan Police Benevolent Association will award financial aid for the first year of college.  This grant will be made in two installments, one half at the beginning of each term.

To be eligible for this award you must be a graduating senior from one of the high schools in Sheboygan; Christian, Lutheran, North and South, or a graduating senior and a child of a Sheboygan Police Officer.  You must also be in the top 50% of your graduating class, exhibit good citizenship through participation in extra-curricular activities at school, show involvement in the community, have not been convicted of a crime, have high moral character, show financial need, and plan to enter a program leading to a Bachelors degree.  Since there is no interview process, an essay outlined on the application is very important.  Preference may be given to graduates related to law enforcement personnel; however, it is not a requirement.

This year our Association is going to award $5000.00 in scholarships. The maximum amount an individual recipient will be awarded is $2000.00.

Interested applicants need to complete the attached application, provide a high school transcript containing classes, grades and class rank.   If requested information does not fit on the application, attach additional sheets.

The application, along with attachments, will be due by Friday, April 17th, 2009 at 5:00 P.M.  Please mail the completed forms and essays addressed to the officer listed at the bottom of this letter or deliver them to the Sheboygan Police Department in an envelope with the officer's name on it.  Final selection for the scholarship will be made on or about the April 24th, 2009, the recipient will be awarded the scholarship at their school's award ceremony.
